What is Cork Flooring?

Cork flooring is one of the newest but most beautiful and comfortable floor options available in the market today. Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree found in Portugal & Spain & is usually harvested every 9 years. Thus they are considered environmentally friendly as a renewable and sustainable natural resource.

Cork floors are mainly available in either glue down or floating applications. All manufacturers offer floating cork floors with an HDF backing that will have the locking technology embedded between two layers of cor. This makes the floors suitable for high moisture areas like basements. Cork floors by nature are sound proof, moisture proof & scratch resistant.
